Minnie Mouse has released a new hip-hop album.
Walt Disney Records has announced the release of ‘Lofi Minnie: Chill’ – out now – which features Disney music reimagined by some of the best artists in the Lofi Hip-Hop genre. It is the follow-up to the 2022 LP ‘Lofi Minnie: Focus’.
The Chill out Album features classic Disney hits such as ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘We don’t Talk About Bruno’, Jungle Book’s ‘The Bare Necessities’ and ‘Let It Go’ from. ‘Frozen’.
‘Lofi Minnie: Chill’ features Lofi’s most famous characters, including eevee, Gnarly, Jeff Kaale and many more.
Last year’s Lofi Minnie: Focus was a huge success with over 12 million streams worldwide. The song ‘Hakuna Matata’ also received 4.5 million streams alone, and was added to one of Spotify’s biggest playlists ‘Lofi Beats’ which has 5 million followers.
Announcing the new record, Tim Pennoyer – Enterprise Franchise Management from The Walt Disney Company – said: “As Minnie Mouse is one of the most famous Disney icons, it is a source of comfort for many people around the world. Bringing comfort to the audience, it is a way to relax, and a big part of what makes Lofi special. We saw these people marrying so well when we released our first album, ‘Lofi Minnie: Focus’, so we knew we couldn’t stop at just one.
“We are very grateful to Lofi’s genius for working on this project. None of this would be possible without them, and their styles are so complex that this album has something for everyone while maintaining a consistent vibe at all times.
“Many Lofi fans get into this zone by listening for hours, so we layered 16 songs into Lofi Minnie: Chill for fans to listen to for an hour. It’s the first compilation album of Minnie Mouse like this and she’s excited for people to see what she’s prepared.
An up-and-coming music genre with roots in hip-hop, house and jazz, Lofi often features instruments and a tempo of 70-90 beats per minute to match the human heart rate. Audiences often flock to Lofi for hours at a time depending on how much interest they can generate.
