Duluth, Minn. – It’s hard to stay active in the winter because sometimes it’s just too cold. Well, for kids there is a list of free indoor games to keep them active.
In conjunction with the grandparent competition, the Young Athletes Foundation held competitions with children ages 1 to 14. The event was held at the Ward Wells Field House at UMD. Before each race, the children practiced the most important steps to avoid injury while running
Greg Happala, who organized the event said, “So as part of our program, the Young Athletes Foundation has the opportunity to do events like this throughout the year. They’re all free. It’s a free opportunity for parents to get their kids out to exercise in a fun place where they just come and have fun.” .”
This is the second race in a series of three freestyle races. More information can be found on the grandparent’s marathon page. The next competition is on February 4, at the Marcovich Wellness Center at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and races begin at 10 a.m
