WESTFIELD – The City Council voted last week to approve the appointment of Westfield High School rehabilitation counselor and social worker Carrie Hildreth-Fiordalice to the city’s Board of Health, replacing Margaret Doody.
Chairwoman of the Human Resources Committee, Cindy Harris, said Fiordalice’s experiences with mental health and substance abuse have brought important perspectives to the board.
Harris said in her 23 years in Westfield public schools, Fiordalice has handled student testing, case management and counseling. He also served on the District Crisis Response Team and the Westfield High School Crisis Team, and was a member of the city’s Coalition on Outreach, Recovery and Education (CORE).
