TikTok says it has a “secret” button that users can use to “heat” videos and make them go viral, and it seems to have worked for them.
As TikTok has moved on from its early days of lip-synching music videos and dance routines, it is now home to more content. Almost every interest and niche is considered at this point.
Naturally, it becomes a video streaming platform, like YouTube in its early days. We’ve seen everything from broken drama, fights, and weird questions start on TikTok before spreading to other platforms.

According to a report by Forbes, TikTok employees can “secretly select videos” in a way they call “hot” which makes them more compelling to users than other posts. These videos can capture about 2% of the platform’s viewing figures for the day, which they call “very strong.”

This seems to have been used to persuade influencers and brands to use the platform, increasing the number of their ideas to bring about a partnership between them and TikTok.
Owned by ByteDance, TikTok has become a hub for video content.
TikTok told Forbes that heat is being used to “distort content” and that only a “few” US users are willing to accept its use. However, it should also be used to “push important information.”
Some US states have already banned the use of TikTok on government devices due to cybersecurity concerns, but it’s unclear if that will continue after the report.
