ANN ARBOR – Washtenaw County Health Officer Jimena Loveluck has been appointed to the Trinity Health Ann Arbor and Livingston Board of Directors.
Loveluck began the three-year project earlier this month.
Council members include physicians, business and community leaders from Livingston and Washtenaw. The organization works with hospital administrators to provide oversight and direction on issues such as patient safety, clinical quality, patient experience and organizational performance, according to the release.
“Jimena brings a deep understanding of the communities we serve and an awareness of the needs of the communities that use our healthcare services,” Trinity Health Ann Arbor and Trinity Health Livingston President Alonzo Lewis said in a statement. “He is smart and committed to government and we are lucky to have him on our team. We will look to his experience and leadership in the coming years as we work to advance our mission of transformative, healing presence for patients and their families. “
Loveluck’s career in public health spans more than 30 years. She has extensive experience in HIV prevention and care, health partnerships, community intervention, harm reduction and community-based research, according to the release.
In her role as chief health officer at WCHD, she leads the health department’s efforts to promote good health by preventing illness and injury. Washtenaw County’s health director, Loveluck oversees many health services and programs. He led and managed the Department of Health’s response to COVID-19, which included effective vaccination management, supporting those who are COVID-positive, monitoring community content, sharing updates and more.
Prior to being appointed Health Assistant in 2019, he served as Deputy Health Assistant for two years. During that time, she coordinated public health efforts, promoted health partnerships and led efforts to combat the opioid crisis. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Ypsilanti’s HIV/AIDS Resource Center and in 2015 joined AIDS Partnership Michigan.
